Did you know that food and water don’t just nourish your body — they also affect your energy?
In Touch for Health kinesiology, food and water are seen as powerful influences on how balanced, energised, and resilient we feel, not just as calories, nutrients, or something we consume out of habit.
Rather than following rigid diets or one-size-fits-all rules, Touch for Health recognises that what supports one person may drain another, and that our needs can change from day to day.
So how does it work?
Using gentle muscle testing, we can explore how your body responds to different foods and hydration. This helps identify:
· Foods that support and boost your energy
· Foods that are neutral
· Foods that may stress or weaken your system at that moment
This doesn’t mean a food is “bad” forever, it simply means your body may not need it right now.
Whole foods matter
Touch for Health encourages eating foods as close to their natural state as possible. Fresh, whole foods tend to support the body better than highly processed ones. Even though how we eat matters, digestion begins in the mouth, and chewing thoroughly helps the body process and use nutrients more effectively.
Hydration is often overlooked, but it’s essential
Second only to air, water is a primary physical need. Our bodies are made up of around 70% water, and every single cell depends on it to function properly. Water supports energy flow, muscle movement, mental clarity, detoxification, and the smooth communication between systems in the body.
Pure water acts as a solvent, helping the body transport nutrients and eliminate waste more effectively. While we get minerals from living foods like vegetables, fruits, grains, and meats, water’s main role is hydration, not nourishment.
Not all liquids are hydrating
Coffee, tea, juice, milk, and other drinks are processed by the body as food. They don’t replace water, just as you wouldn’t fill a car battery with milk or clean walls with coffee. What the body truly needs is water.
Many people mistake thirst for hunger or cravings. Simply drinking water first can often make a noticeable difference.
Listening to your body
Muscle testing isn’t about diagnosing conditions or replacing medical advice. It’s a gentle way of listening to the body’s feedback, helping you make more informed and intuitive choices around food, hydration, and lifestyle.
The bigger picture
Food, water, stress, supplements, environment, and lifestyle all influence our energy. Touch for Health looks at the whole person, supporting balance so the body can regulate and heal itself more effectively.
