Many people have never heard of kinesiology, and those who have often aren’t quite sure what it involves. At its heart, kinesiology is a natural, holistic approach that supports the body’s own ability to restore balance and heal itself — rather than focusing only on symptoms.
Kinesiology recognises that our physical body, emotions, energy systems, and mental wellbeing are all deeply connected. When one area is under stress, it can affect the whole system. By gently identifying and correcting imbalances, kinesiology helps the body return to a state of harmony.
A Brief Background: What Is Touch for Health?
Touch for Health kinesiology was developed to make the principles of kinesiology accessible to everyone. It works with the body’s muscles and energy systems to identify areas of imbalance and restore the natural flow of energy throughout the body.
Rather than forcing change, Touch for Health works with your body, supporting it to rebalance itself in a safe, gentle, and respectful way.
What Happens in a Touch for Health Session?
A typical Touch for Health session lasts around 60 minutes and is designed to feel calm, supportive, and tailored entirely to you.
Before the session, you’ll receive a short health and wellbeing form. This helps me understand a little about your background and what you’d like support with — whether that’s physical discomfort, emotional stress, low energy, or simply wanting to feel more balanced.
When we meet, we begin with a brief conversation to clarify your goals for the session and identify the most appropriate balance for you. Every session is individual and personalised, because no two bodies — or lives — are the same.
What Does the Session Look Like?
Sessions can be carried out lying comfortably on a couch or standing, depending on your preference and needs.
A key part of Touch for Health is muscle testing, which is a gentle, painless technique used to assess muscle strength. This isn’t about force or discomfort — it’s simply a way of “communicating with the body” to understand where energy may be out of balance.
Once imbalances are identified, they are corrected using a range of gentle techniques, which may include:
Massaging specific neuro-lymphatic points
Holding neuro-vascular points
Working with particular points along the spine
These techniques help restore balance and support the natural flow of energy throughout the body.
What Do People Often Notice After a Balance?
Many people report feeling:
More energised and mentally clear
Improvements in mood, pain levels, and posture
A greater sense of balance and ease
More resilient when dealing with everyday stresses
When energy is flowing freely, the body is better able to self-heal and adapt — physically, emotionally, and mentally.
Touch for Health balances can also gently support the release of emotional stress or stored tension, including past experiences or trauma, when this is something a person is ready to work with.
A Gentle Way to Support Your Wellbeing
Touch for Health kinesiology doesn’t diagnose or treat illness. Instead, it offers a natural and empowering way to listen to your body, support balance, and encourage overall wellbeing.
It’s about working with your body — not against it — and helping you reconnect with your own inner capacity for balance, clarity, and healing.
